Debbie Brooks graduated from Pratt Institute in New York and attended the Royal Academy of Copenhagen. It is during those years she developed her unique personal style, drawing from real life subject matter. After several years working as a designer for Disney, Warner Bros., Nickelodeon, Universal Studios and F.A.O. Schwarz, she decided to launch her own collection. Debbie transitioned from traditional canvas to her 3-D medium and then to furniture. The first product she created was a handbag for her own use. It was so well received, she launched her line in November of 2002 at New York's 5th Avenue Henri Bendel's. She has since created custom corporate collectable limited edition handbags for the Tony Awards, Elton John for CAESARS, The Four Seasons, The Wynn Hotel, The Broadmoor and The Ritz Carlton. Debbie Brooks was also the official artist for the 2004 Summer & 2006 Winter Olympic Games, with the exclusive evening bag license. Her limited edition charitable collection have raised thousands and include The Avon Foundation, UCP, MDA, Make-A-Wish, Autism Speaks, Dress for Success and many others. Debbie has attracted an impressive list of clientele including Gwyneth Paltrow, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jessica Simpson, Nicole Kidman, Britney Spears, Renee Zellweger, Michelle Pfeiffer, Marisa Tomei, Patti LaBelle and Jane Alexander. Her artwork and handbags have also been featured on CNN, The Today Show, CBS, ABC, Extra, Inside Edition, E Style, People Magazine, Lucky, Ocean Drive and Hamptons Magazine.
